OUR COMMITMENTS

Since 2013, Soöruz has been working hard to integrate the environment into the company’s strategy and product development. It is by working hand in hand with our suppliers that we have been able to source new materials that are less impactful for our playing environment, the ocean and more broadly the planet.

We do not claim to revolutionize the world, but just to make our way in a responsible way. That’s why we are currently working in this direction in order to be able to offer you innovations with high added value and in full transparency.

OUR RECYCLING PROGRAM

In 2019, we started the Soöruz Second Life program which offers an alternative to the end of life of our wetsuits. We recycle 95% of the wetsuits to make new objects and secondary material. You can now drop off your used wetsuits at our retailers. You limit the impact of your practice & give a second life to your suit.

OUR OCEAN PROTECT LABEL

In 2019, Soöruz created the Ocean Protect Label to identify the brand’s most eco-responsible products and reduce our environmental impact. It takes into account the entire life cycle of the products.

FOCUS ON DESIGN AND MATERIALS

Soöruz tries to source materials that have a lower impact on the environment by substituting petrochemical components with organic or recycled ones.
Based on its experience and know-how, Soöruz has engaged in a thorough work on the entire life cycle of its products. From the sourcing of materials and manufacturing, through transportation, use and end of life. Today, we integrate the environment right from the product design stage. The goal is to optimize materials and their impacts, improve their quality and durability, and encourage recycling.

Very early on, we took the environment into account in the development of our wetsuits, from the first wetsuit made of Yulex to the launch of oysterprene and technologies such as Black Diamond or Storm Dry.

OYSTERPRENE

OYSTERPRENE is used in our most flexible and efficient neoprenes which make up our expert and pro ranges. The process consists of replacing limestone with a natural, recycled and renewable powder derived from the grinding of oyster shells. This solution does not alter the technical performance of our products and improves their environmental footprint without impacting the price for the consumer.

BIÖPRENE

Based on oyster shells, sugar cane, natural rubber and vegetable oil, we have developed a new « recipe » for an even more eco-friendly neoprene.
The foam is 60% biosourced and is our most environmentally friendly combination. It offers better performance than the Yulex and Naturalprene we used to use.
