U-zip

by SOÖRUZ

Why the U-zip

Flexible. Less water in.
Easy to put on.

01

Maximum mobility when paddling

Minimal material around the neck and shoulders and a light, flexible zip: paddling feels smoother and you tire less.

02

Less water in, more warmth

Closed from one shoulder to the other, the U-zip limits water entry, especially when you wipe out.

03

Easier to put on and take off

Faster than a classic chest-zip. No more twisting your neck to get your head through, even with a hood.

FAQ

What is a U-zip wetsuit?+

It is a wetsuit fitted with the U-zip by Soöruz: a U-shaped opening from one shoulder to the other, closed by a thin, flexible YKK SOFLEX® zip.

Is the U-zip easier to put on than a chest-zip?+

Yes. It goes on faster and without twisting your neck, even with a hood.

U-zip, chest-zip or zip-free: what's the difference?+

A chest-zip opens across the chest: it limits water entry, but you often have to twist your neck to get in. A zip-free wetsuit has no zip: you get in through the collar, which takes more effort, and its thermal protection is lower than the U-zip. The U-zip opens from one shoulder to the other: it goes on more easily and faster, without twisting your neck, with better thermal protection than our chest-zip and zip-free wetsuits.

Is the U-zip waterproof?+

No wetsuit entry is completely watertight, but the U-zip limits water entry better than our chest-zip and zip-free wetsuits, especially when you wipe out.

Is the zip durable?+

The U-zip uses a new-generation YKK SOFLEX® zip. Its placement reduces mechanical stress, which helps the wetsuit last longer.

Which wetsuits have the U-zip?+

Available now: the men's GURU+ in 5/4, 5/4/3 hooded and 6/5/4 hooded. Summer 2027: the men's GURU PRO and FIGHTER PRO, plus the women's GURU PRO and hooded GURU+.

What is Organic Oysterprene foam made of?+

FSC®-certified natural rubber and oyster shell powder. It is USDA certified and 82% bio-based.

“Really nice to surf in, a big gain in flexibility and less water coming in than with the chest zip, especially when wiping out. Pretty easy to put on and take off, especially around the neck – much less head twisting.”
