Second Life Program:
Our wetsuit recycling program
Give your wetsuit a second life !
In recognition of the environmental challenges posed by the neoprene industry, Soöruz is taking responsibility for the end-of-life management of the products it brings to market. To achieve this, Soöruz has implemented an extensive in-house recycling program specifically for neoprene wetsuits. This program aims to give used wetsuits, both from Soöruz and its competitors, a second lease of life.
Since 2021, we have already collected 20 000 wetsuits per year.
Our objective is to always recycle as many wetsuits as the brand introduces to the market.
HOW TO RECYCLE YOUR WETSUIT ?
STEP 1 : COLLECTING THE WETSUITS
To facilitate this process, we have designed wooden wetsuit collection bins that we provide to our partners, including surf and sailing schools, surf shops, and Wake Parks, across France and Europe. Riders can voluntarily drop off their used wetsuits at these locations. Once the bin is full, the suits are boxed up and shipped to La Rochelle.
ETAPE 3 : GIVING WETSUITS A SECOND LIFE
The resulting granules are repurposed as filling material for cushions, pouffes, or punch bags. This material is available to both individuals and professionals. We are also actively working on developing a new material composed of cork and crushed neoprene, with more innovations on the horizon.
