BioPRENE New Eco-responsible wetsuit
New «recipe» to develop a neoprene even more eco responible
for the first time in the wetsuit environment.

In response to the neoprene climate impact, we automatically started to search some new alternatives to the petrol present inside the wetsuits. The Yulex Soöruz wetsuit (2015) and the Naturalprene wetsuit (2016) have been major improvements. They comforted us with the possibility of making more performant and sustainable wetsuits.
Nowadays, many wetsuits spotlight on an eco-friendlier material: the limestone. It’s a type of fossil limestone coming from quarry. It limits the use of petrochemical materials whereas it requires a very energy-intensive and nonrenewable extraction process.
The oyster shell quickly gets our attention as a natural recycled substitute. It will become a renewable alternative to the limestone. Early 2018, Soöruz started a R&D program to develop new wetsuits from renewable and/or recycled materials.
Soöruz ground and sent oyster shells to its different production units in order to realize development tests of different substances. Spring 2019, the “recipe” of Biöprene was made and the first wetsuits were ready to be assembled. Autumn 2019 was an intense tests’ period in many ways to finalize the new GREENLINE range. The commercialization of the different versions: Chest Zip 4/3 mm and 3/2 mm will start in March 2020 from 279 € (public price).
The new Biöprene Soöruz is manufactured with a mix of:
Oyster shell powder
Natural rubber,
Sugar cane,
None food seeds oil
